About the Author
Hi, I'm Nicole
Throughout my career I’ve helped address many healthcare challenges – pancreatic cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, geriatrics care and mental health. You could say helping people is my calling. My other passion – writing – is how I make sense of this wild and wonderful world.
Writing also is what healed me when I lost my longtime partner to suicide. I’m currently seeking publication of my memoir, Let the Words Fall Out, a raw exploration of devastating grief and how I got reacquainted with resilience as I recovered from a traumatic loss and later, as I embraced singledom on the sometimes-much-to-be-desired L.A. dating scene.
I’ve been fortunate to have my work published in the Los Angeles Times, and I’ve made appearances in various academic publications. I'm an ongoing contributor to Grateful Web, sharing reviews of music and books—two of my greatest loves. On Substack, I post unfiltered reflections on life’s oddities, awkward encounters and my takes on books that will make you laugh, rethink swiping right, or opening that so-called “bestseller.”
When I’m not working or writing, you'll find me with family and friends, usually gathered around a table. I often write on my dating profile that I’m a “small gal, big eater.” Travel is another joy. These special journeys open doors—not just to different landscapes, but to new friends, ways of thinking, and simply being.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a bit better!
